Rates

 

Translation

Translation rates are determined by various factors, such as urgency, the technical nature/complexity of a text and the total volume. In general, my rates are based on the German standard line of 55 characters excluding spaces. Alternatively, I can also calculate your cost on the basis of the number of words should you be more familiar with that.

 

Proofreading and revision/edit

Proofreading and revision rates are determined by text length, complexity and legibility. In some cases, a text may require a complete reworking to render it in good, native-sounding English or German.

 

Surcharges

• A surcharge will be applied to certain read-only file formats (e.g. PDF and PPT), especially if you require them to look exactly the same/include special features such as charts etc.

• An additional fee of 25-30% applies to urgent jobs.

• A fee subject to local tariffs is also payable for any notary services.
